Sunk Ship

The dives in and around the wrecks are some of the most spectacular dives in the region. There are several shipwrecks at different dive sites in the Riviera Maya. There is, for instance, Mama Viña shipwreck, an old shrimp boat that was deliberately sunk in 1995 for divers. It is possible to admire how nature has taken over the boat: the surface is covered by a large number of corals, inside we find shoals of silver fish, which together with moray eels, lobsters and other animals, have taken over the boat as their permanent home.
